About Henry House Community School

Henry House Community School was founded in 2010 by Dr. David Atubra and Mrs. Bernice Atubra — a couple originally from Ghana's Volta Region who, after many years of distinguished careers abroad, chose to give something lasting back to the community they came from.

Their vision was simple but powerful: to create access to quality education for children who might otherwise have had very limited opportunities. Over the past 15 years, that vision has become a reality. The school has educated thousands of young people, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and ambition to build brighter futures — not just for themselves, but for their wider communities.

Today, Henry House Community School is thriving and serves more than 200 students, having established itself as the school of choice in its area.

Our Involvement

We first connected with Henry House Community School through a mission trip to Ghana — and what we found there moved us deeply. We met children full of potential, teachers committed to their work, and a leadership team doing extraordinary things with limited resources.

Through our affiliations with Beauty Behind Gospel Church and HIANA, both based in Birmingham, we have been working to build a bridge between our community here in the UK and the children and families of Henry House. This is not a one-off gesture — it is an ongoing relationship built on trust, presence, and a genuine desire to see these children thrive.

We have visited the school, spoken with its headmistress, its teachers, and its students. We have seen first-hand where the need is greatest — and we know that every pound raised will go directly to making a difference in a child's life.

Our Goal: Raising £10,000

We are committed to raising £10,000 for Henry House Community School. This target has been set with a clear purpose in mind:

→  Sponsoring children into the September academic year, ensuring no child misses out on education due to fees they cannot afford.

→  Providing essential classroom resources, including whiteboards, to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

→  Supporting the school's capacity to grow and serve even more students in the years ahead.

£10,000. Real children. Real impact.

Whether you can give £10 or £1,000, your contribution matters. Every pound brings us closer to a school that is fully resourced, fully staffed, and able to give every child the education they deserve.
